The Open Your Heart Campaign is a year-round giving campaign that provides critical funding to support the mission of the American Heart Association as we work to improve nutrition security and ensure all our neighbors have the same access to healthy, affordable food.
With 1 in 10 residents of the Greater Washington Region experiencing nutrition insecurity, we have a lot more to do before everyone has the same opportunity to live a long and healthy life. That is a part of what Open Your Heart and the Heart of Greater Washington campaign seek to address this year. Together, we are forging a path where wondering when the next nutritious meal will come from is no longer anyone’s reality. The Heart of Greater Washington went beyond the table by expanding food outreach to build sustainable access to healthy fruits and vegetables.
